Partner & Support person prep
For labor, birth, & postpartum preparations • the dads, the grandmothers, the friends — they deserve some guidance, too, as they step into the role of support person.
After generations spent largely away & apart of physiological childbirth, many support people falter, get pushed aside, and feel oh so overwhelmed by the task of birth attendance & support. I couldn’t possibly lay it out for you in one single document, but this can act as a touchstone, a starting point, a seed to plant in the garden bed of all that’s to come for your community (a makeshift village, in these wild, often disjointed times).
May you feel ever-supported in your journey into parenthood. If you’re here as a support person, welcome! You are so welcome here & I’m glad to have you.
